Toolpoint for Women Networking - event 30 May 2024

A special thanks to Bruker for hosting this event, where the guests were able to take a tour of Bruker's lab, followed by an engaging discussion on the evening's main topic of Mentoring.

The event had a good turnout and we encourage our network members to promote attendance from their company at future events.   

This women's network provides a vital support function for women in the Lab Science industry and helps attract more women into our industry!

May 29th 2024, 15.00-17.00, Focus Group Operations & Supply Chain

Our first meeting of the Focus Group Operations & Supply Chain, will be held on May 29th and will be hosted by Thomas Hösli, Operations Manager, General Manager and Head of the European Logistics Hub at Mettler Toledo.

The operations and supply chain functions in our companies influence business success on various levels. Material price and labour cost directly impact margin, a smooth supply chain enables growth and low cost logistics improves profitability.

The focus group will discuss topics such as supply chain resilience, supply chain design, pooling distribution logistic and much more. The group will meet 3-4 times a year and participants are encouraged to make an active contribution.

May 30th-31st & June 29th - Tactical Selling Skills training

Good salespeople can make all the difference. In our industry they often need a scientific background and are not naturally at ease phoning up strangers or qualifying an opportunity.  Luckily these skills can be learnt. 

We partnered up with george james ltd, who are a UK based training provider specifically for the Lab Science industry. 

Trainers are former sales managers and executives from companies, such as Agilent, METTLER TOLEDO, or Perkin Elmer.

Participants learn to: 

  • Improve conversion rate from leads by applying a rigorous qualification process.
  • refine their telephone skills and perfect objection handling to get more appointments 
  • improve productivity by planning, prioritising, and organising their time more effectively  
  • conduct a sales call, present offer, handle price objections and ultimately close the sale

The course is right for newcomers or as a refresher for more experienced sales reps.

Toolpoint for Lab Science is happy to report that the first Toolpoint for Women Networking event took place on 7 March 2024 in Zurich with more than 25 Attendees, representing member companies. 

The aim of Toolpoint for Women is to provide a support network to women in the Lab Science industry and help to attract more women into our industry!
